On any severe weather day, please listen to your local radio station for late school openings, early closures or snow days. Announcements begin as early as 5:00 a.m. On these days, Skinner follows the Vancouver School District. The district automated “Emergency Closure” number is 313-1401, or you can visit their Emergency Closure Bulletin.

• If the Vancouver School District is closed for a snow day, Skinner will be closed as well.

• If the Vancouver School District is closing at 1:00 p.m., then Skinner will also close at 1:00 p.m.
  
  As a courtesy, the school will attempt to contact parents when there is an early closure. You will be allowed one hour from the closing time that the Vancouver School District announces, to pick up your child. After that, a fee of $1.00 will be charged for every five (5) minutes you are late.

• If the Vancouver School District opens two hours late, then Skinner opens two hours later from 7:00 a.m. for all classes.

Missed school days are not made up at the end of the year.
