Support Our School!  These words create a well known acronym:  SOS; which is befitting and indicative of much needed parent support here at Skinner Elementary Montessori. Whether expressed through volunteering in the classroom, or participating in our SCRIP and E-SCRIP programs, Skinner relies on the help of parents, family and community to reach our yearly goals.

We are unlike other private schools that make you volunteer or pay for a certain number of hours, but do hope that you may find it in your heart, or schedules, to volunteer as much time as possible to continue to make this a beautiful and enriched school for our children. 

Our school relies on the “Friends of Skinner”, a non-profit organization. This year, in 2008, we have decided to shift our focus away from the Annual Skinner Auction dinner, and focus on a year long fundraising effort with TWO NEW SCRIP PROGRAMS for our school. A percentage of the cost of the SCRIP and E-SCRIP will go to our school when you purchase these gift cards or services at face value. Proceeds from this year’s efforts will benefit classroom tools and resources, continuing professional development of teachers, and school expansion. The first program is simply called SCRIP. It is "substitute money" in the form of gift cards that can be used to purchase anything from drinks, groceries, fuel, clothing, toys and cosmetics to entertainment, electronics, home improvement or household services. Use them like you would regular gift cards. They also make great holiday and birthday gifts! To make an order, fill out the form here and turn it into the office with a check made out to "Friends of Skinner".

The second program is called E-SCRIP. E-SCRIP is east, and anyone can sign up, including friends and grandparents. All you have to do is register your grocery loyalty cards, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and debit/ATM cards. Then, when you use those cards at national, regional and local merchants, they will make contributions to our school based on a percentage of purchases as determined by each merchant or service provider. E-SCRIP even has an on-line Mall where you can shop for more savings and make more contributions to our school.
